Longtime employee and Executive Director Andrew Mason will step down after 22 years of service, commitment and impact at Open School.
During Mason’s tenure Open School grew from a single high school program serving 84 students to four core programs serving over 500 students annually across six school districts. Additionally, with Mason’s leadership, equity joined advocacy and academics as a key pillar at Open School, the organization built a state-of-the-art new school in East Multnomah County, where more kids start our programs early and get what they need to graduate and get ahead, and Open School’s annual budget grew from $500,000 to $5 million.
