This Data Specialist is responsible for supporting the Step Up program in the collection, entry, analysis, and reporting of program data for internal review and external partners.
SCHEDULE WORK HOURS
The Data Specialist will work 20 hours per week, 12 months per year, with staff training and occasional weekends, evenings, and overnight retreats. This position is based out of the Step Up Satellite Office and depending on Covid-19 restrictions, may be a blend of in-person and remote work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection and Entry Duties:
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or technical school and one (1) year-experience database administration and/or analysis and working in an educational/non-profit environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be collaborative and work with a diverse population to solve problems and provide high quality customer service. Strong Excel skills and database systems. Experience working with under-served and multi-cultural youth in an educational setting preferred.
Ability to explain and communicate information to team members who know less about data. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
This position will not supervise Open School employees.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Bilingual is preferred, especially Spanish. Ability to be confidential and sensitive with program information and data. Experience in data collection and entry and strong organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with others and to work independently with little oversight. Ability to meet deadlines and learn new skills quickly and independently in order to meet organizational needs. Ability to read, and interpret most documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical and data analysis. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems.
