The Step Up Program Manager is responsible for the successful administration and coordination of the Step Up multi-site programs, including system development and implementation, staff development and supervision, program planning, development and evaluation. This position is focused on managing and supporting the counseling team and social-emotional supports that Step Up provides to our students and families. It also serves as a liaison between the Program Director, school staff, partners, and the Step Up Program.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and three (3) years of experience counseling high-risk youth in an educational or similar environment; with two years of supervising social workers or counselors required; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. MSW or MFT preferred. Lived and career experience equivalent to the above.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be collaborative and work with a diverse population to solve problems and provide high quality service. Experience managing multi-site programs or projects concurrently.
Ability to take initiative, prioritize, plan, organize and multi-task. Ability to develop and implement systems of communication and accountability. Effective problem prevention and problem solving skills.
Strong leadership and management skills to support to multi-site program locations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Strong planning, monitoring and evaluation skills with the ability to facilitate and train. Strong verbal skills, including public speaking and giving presentation and written skills, including previous proposal and report writing experience.
This position will supervise Open School employees that include Step Up Student Success Specialists, counseling interns, and volunteers.
Provide short and long-term planning for the Step Up Program. Responsible for implementing departmental goals and facilitating interpersonal team dynamics in achieving departmental goals and institutional objectives through a quality/customer service oriented team.
Develop and implement policy and procedures for departmental standards and protocol as approved by the supervisor. Maintain the knowledge base of internal and external regulations and laws necessary to assure compliance in all departmental activities.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Open School policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Plan and provide education and development opportunities for Step Up staff.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, chairing or providing leadership to committees as appointed by the Executive Director and/or Step Up Program Director.
