We operate Open School East, an alternative high school in East Multnomah County, and an education-based wrap-around support program that serves students enrolled in Portland Public Schools. Position Overview
Teacher Advocates are on the front line of delivering on Open School East’s mission by providing a high-quality education to underserved students. Teacher Advocates meet their students where they are and support them to achieve goals for high school and beyond. In addition to teaching academic classes, the Teacher Advocate, Math, serves specific students as their advocate. Each Teacher Advocate contributes to creating an identify-affirming, respectful and equity-focused school environment.

Compensation/Benefits
Starting pay $42,000 – $50,000 annually, based on a 10.1-month year. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and comes with a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, Life/AD&D, Short/Long Term Disability, FSA, retirement benefits, and a generous paid time off package including paid holidays plus paid winter and spring breaks.
